Little Treasures

I’m a lover of little simple everyday things. I watch carefully a butterfly as it draws the sweetness off a flower. I enjoy the warmth of a sunset from my kitchen window. A smile from my daughter thrills my heart- all these and more tokens are enough to get me through the day. I pray you may find that little simple joy that will get you through yet another day :)

There’s nothing more precious than having someone to talk to (about anything) especially when you’re struggling wether it be with some major decisions or challenges. Sometimes however, it isn’t possible or you don’t want to or simply can’t talk to your girlfriend, mom, husband or that special someone about that one thing that troubles your soul. That’s when prayer takes on a whole new meaning. You find yourself pouring your heart out to God-and you sense His embrace. You feel the comfort, the surrender. It’s also very encouraging to now that someone somewhere brought you to God’s attention through their very own personal prayer and God actually hears it and cares and He respond to it according to His infinite mercies. That’s powerful! That’s prayer!

Take time to pray for someone today :)

Kwerner Color Inspiration #47

I love this weeks color combo. Such warm colors gives a sensation of comfort.

For this challenge I created a card using a variety of stamps:

Hero Arts Butterfly and Bee

MSE Fancy florals (I don’t remember the name)

Stampology Dandy

Cardstock by Papertrey Ink

Embellishments: Prima Flowers & Mini Brads, paper piercing to create border around the images and Scor-pal to create border and add sense of completion :)

It’s been a while since I’ve posted :( I was in Arizona attending a wedding. It was lovely. Anyhow, LOVE- what an interesting thing. You have two complete strangers who are different in every sense (maybe with some similarities) they get to know each other for a relatively short time next thing you know they are vowing perpetual commitment to one another not only in the good times but in the worst of times as well!! Don’t you just love the mystery of it all. I personally believe this is a reflection of the character of God in it’s purest sense. I don’t think well ever fully comprehend love. Love is not a feeling it’s a principle you choose to live out daily and it grows as you allow it to and it changes the way you view yourself, others and ultimately the way you view life in general. It has the potential to make you a better person!! And it facilities the spreading of the gospel because when you love you’re in essence sharing God because “God is Love.”

Thank You

Gratitude is one of the most basic expression that leaves a deep impression on the giver and the receiver. There’s nothing sweeter than a grateful heart. I believe is an antidote to many ailments.

Take the challenge:

Write a list of things your grateful for today (at least 3). You can add daily, weekly or however often you’d like the important thing is to go back and review it especially when your tempted to slip into despondency or complain of the little you have :)

May you have a day filled with gratitude

I made this card a while back. I made it thinking of my own little girl. There’s nothing like having a little someone around. God has blessed beyond measure with such precious gift and there’s not a day that passes by with out me thanking HIM. Whenever your around a little one think of these words spoken by Louis Pasteur, “When I see a child it inspires in me two sentiments tenderness for what he is and respect for what he may become”. May we honor the little ones in our home and if you don’t have any of your own maybe a relative or friend might.

Enjoy your day!!

I love everything Damask. To me it’s very classy with a little old, vintage flair to it. Dawn McVey is one of the many talented designers for Papertrey Ink and she’s the one who created this extraordinary set. I decorated this picture frame using 2 out of the many lovely stamps in her Damask set (I made it an anniversary set not knowing it was her anniversary so thought I dedicate it to her). Happy 8th anniversary Dawn!!

materials used:

Damask Stamp set, Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet cardstock, White embossing powder, making memories rhinestones. Twill black ribbon.

I love Spring!!! Everything that was sleeping comes to life. The air is full of the fresh fragrance of the blooming trees. I close my eyes and the first thought that fills my mind is- A new beginning. Isn’t that what we all hope for! It makes me look forward to that day when sickness will be no more, when pain and suffering will be vanished from every heart, when love will be pure and true, when happiness and bliss will be the norm... it makes me look forward to that day when Jesus will be there, you know at a huggable distance-to that day when when I shall see Him face to face forever more. For now we have the promise of Spring. Of living that new life- here, now!!

Happy Friday!!

Kwerner Color Inspiration #44

This color combo I think will be an all time favorite!! My inspiration for this card comes from a beautiful branch of cherry blossoms my husband left on the dining table as a surprise for when I woke up in the morning to prepare breakfast!! Isn’t that sweet!! You can see a little piece peeking through the upper right corner.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave your comment :0)

Have a great day!

Never Alone

A few years ago I went to Portugal on a mission trip. My husband was there also. However, the very day we landed we received news that a close relative of his had passed away. A day or so later my husband had to take off leaving me behind to finish (start really) the work we had gone to accomplish there. The days that followed were probably the toughest. Think of it I was far from home, alone (due to the circumstances) in a place I didn’t understand the language, and on a mission trip (which already means hard work). I was in desperate need of a friend and there was none to be found. Tried calling back home in the US, no answer. The time change (9 hrs. difference) made matters worst as far as communicating goes. I went on my knees in prayer and I tell you there’s no friend like Jesus. He became my closest and most intimate friend. His presence brought peace to my troubled heart. Ever since in my most desperate times I’ve found Him to be faithfully waiting ready to hear and attend my cry. Jesus is indeed a treasure, a treasure I pray may stay in my heart.

Friends are dew drops sent from the very hands of Jesus to refresh our heart as we journey together :0)

As for the card- I love this color combo. Kraft cardstock, with some lavender, a few creamy swirls and punch out flowers with some bling as an accent. Simple, rustic and delicate!!
